The Instagram-famous Sneaky Vaunt Bra is all over social media. We put it to the test to see if it’s REALLY the miracle bra the internet says it is.

If you’re a person who uses Instagram, you’ve probably seen the Sneaky Vaunt bra pop up on your timeline. You know, the sticky strapless bra with the drawstring in the front that gives your boobs Insta vixen-worthy cleavage. It’s the kind of bra made for backless and off-the-shoulder tops, and the brand’s Instagram page is full of images of ladies enjoying nights out in body-hugging frocks and backless jumpsuits. But can the Sneaky Vaunt really withstand all that?

We had four Allure editors put the Insta-famous lingerie to the test, a challenge to see if the bra actually gives you the kind of enviable cleavage that will make folks double tap a photo – and also, if it would actually stay on all night. Inside the cups of the Sneaky Vaunt, there is an adhesive (with space cut out for your nipples so removal isn’t a nightmare), which the brand says should last for around 40 wears. We didn’t have 40 wears, but we did have enough to draw our own conclusions as to if the bra is actually any good.

Read on below to see what we wore to test drive the Sneaky Vaunt, and find out if it really is the miracle bra Instagram influencers gush about, or if it’s just another in a long list of Instagram products that look cool on your screen but not IRL.

I was ready and willing to hate this bra — or these twin stickers attached by string, which is what I saw when my backless, strapless Sneaky Vaunt bra arrived. As enticing as the photos and videos of it splashed across Instagram made it seem (it’s invisible under any top! gives you instant cleavage in seconds!), I assumed its benefits would be limited to breasts smaller than a D. How could stickers support anything more?

When I test-drove the bra underneath a strappy, floaty slip dress on a date, I was pleasantly surprised. What this does is push your boobs together so that it looks like you have some, even if they hang low on your chest or point in opposite directions, and for me it worked like a charm. I felt shapely and contained, but not restricted. And while the slow process of peeling the very sticky bra off my boobs at the end of the night wasn’t exactly sexy, it made both me and date laugh.

As a 34E, I don’t generally have a problem with cleavage. But I would like to wear strapless, backless dresses out at night and have never had luck with the usual stick-on bras. I was actually shamed at a department store when I went shopping for one and the sales associate told me they’re only for C cups and smaller! Luckily, I know all about Sneaky Vaunt and I’ve seen my girl Amber Rose (who is decidedly not a C cup) wearing the bra. I was excited to try it.

I didn’t have a big party to test the bra out so I threw on a sweater and hit brunch with my friends. The first thing my guy friend told me was how great my cleavage looked! I was pleasantly surprised by how the bra stayed on all day through eating and shopping and running around the city. There isn’t any support, but it did make me feel less naked than if I was going bra-less.

Looking at myself in the bra in a smaller top, I thought it made my cleavage line a bit too “long” for my personal taste. I wished they were lifted and separated a little bit more. But still, it worked and did exactly what it promised.

I have to admit, I wasn’t sure this bra would work for me at first. While I was confident it would give me some cleavage as it advertised, I was mostly worried about the adhesive, particularly how sticky it was. Would the thing actually stay on? Or would it slowly slide down my chest during the course of the evening, contorting my 32 DD boobs into a shape I didn’t recognize?

Fortunately, my nightmare scenario was not the case. I actually wore the Sneaky Vaunt twice – once to my three-year-old cousin’s birthday party and again on a night out to celebrate my childhood friend’s 29th. I am happy to report that both times it pushed up my cleavage and firmly stayed on. I did everything from holding a baby to a light twerk (I was tired, don’t judge me) in the times that I wore the piece – I even shook my boobs around a little bit to see if it would come flying off, but no, the bra didn’t budge. At one point at my friend’s birthday, my shirt accidentally popped open, revealing the bra to all my homies. They told me were it not for the way I hurriedly closed my shirt, they would have thought the bra was part of my look, so I guess that’s another point for the Sneaky Vaunt.

The cleavage it gave me was kinda… long, but the shirt I wore hid that. But as someone who will go braless if what I’m wearing doesn’t allow for my other bras, I thought the Sneaky Vaunt would come in handy for a lot of tops I have. Bottom line, it does what it says it does, although I think this works better for larger chests as opposed to smaller ones.

“The women in my family are very pro-sticky bra, so I’m well versed in the magic of them. I’ve never used one with a corset-like pulley system, though. Before going out to dinner with my friend Laura, I stuck on my Sneaky Vaunt bra. To put it simply, I was underwhelmed by it. I’ve worn serval push-up bras in my day, so I know just how voluptuous I can make my C-cup boobs look. I may or may not have caused someone to fail out of class in college because of the powers of a push-up bra. (All he ever did was stare at me instead of the board.)

The Sneaky Vaunt, however, gave me the measliest butt crack-like cleavage. I prefer a more lifting cleavage. I tried to achieve this by sticking each side of the bra toward the outer corners of my boobs before pulling them together. This just gave me compact, cube-like boobage that made me look like a badly drawn pin-up girl. Once I took the bra out on the town, I found it to be super itchy and uncomfortable. I couldn’t wait to take it off.”
